Two and a Half Men may be an easy target, but this piece from Patrik Svensson’s minimalist typography TV poster series is both accurate and very clever.

I finished reading Deathly Hallows last night, completing my month-long Harry Potter reading binge. It was my first HP experience; I’d previously read only the first book, and wasn’t particularly taken with it. Looking back, I’m really not sure how that was possible, because this time around, I was enthralled and enchanted for seven books, culminating in what I found to be an entirely satisfying conclusion. It was a truly incredible adventure thanks to the masterful storytelling of JK Rowling. As I got towards the end, I didn’t want it to end, because I really fell in love with the characters and the magic that was unfolding with every turn of the page. Now I understand why people who’ve been reading these books for years were so incredibly sad to see it all end this month with the release of the final film. Now it’s time to go back to start the journey over, this time on the big screen, with all eight films. Meanwhile, I’ll be hoping that the giant squid from the Hogwarts lake gets his own spinoff series. (Art by Keith Noordzy)

I saw the Chihuly exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts yesterday and it was AWESOME. (I was also excited to check out the Art of the America’s wing and see work by Rothko, Hopper and Jackson Pollack.) If you haven’t seen it yet, hurry up and get to the MFA; the exhibit closes August 7.
